Tools, Sundries and Grow-your-own
We stock tools made by the UK manufacturer, Burgon & Ball, as well as secateurs made by Swiss manufacturers, Felco. As we do not sell the full range from either manufacturer, you are advised to call or email us first if there is a specific item you require.
We have all the essentials you would expect in the “sundries” department … from twine to plant labels, root trainers to trugs, but we also stock some more unusual items such as Softie (a great way to tie in wayward branches without causing damage).
We passionately believe everyone should grow some of their own fruit and veg, so have all you need to help you do so. Top seller is the marvellous Veg-Table, which allows easy vegetable growing even in a very restricted space.
Pots
We have a range of traditional terracotta Yorkshire pots which are guaranteed frost-proof (as opposed to the “frost resistant” that you so often see). They come in variety of shapes and sizes.
To contrast with the traditional terracotta planters, we also have zinc and black zinc planters and window boxes, as well as a small range of black granite and slate planters. Please phone or email for further details.
We endeavour to have a constant stock of genuine, old, reclaimed terracotta pots.
Fertilizers
We stock a range of what we regard as the best fertilizers and most effective chemicals available, the core being the excellent Maxicrop range of organic fertilizers, made from sustainably harvested seaweed, which has been widely proven in scientific research to improve plants’ natural strength and to stimulate growth. These products are approved for organic growing by the Soil Association.
Chemicals
Strong healthy plants are much more resilient, and therefore able to fight off pests and disease more readily. However, most of us need to resort to chemical warfare once in a while! We stock an essential product range which includes Provado, Fungus Fighter and slug killers, as well as systemic weed killers.
Compost and Mulch
We have a range of composts, in various sizes, available throughout the year to meet all requirements.
